Welcome to Music at Bethany Elementary!
The music program at Bethany Elementary focuses on the child's natural singing voice as the primary instrument to develop musical literacy. Plano ISD supports a Kodaly-inspired music curriculum from elementary through high school. Many experiences will be provided in the areas of singing, reading and writing notation, moving/dancing, creating, playing classroom instruments, and listening to musical masterworks. These experiences provide opportunities for the development of musical skills and conceptual understanding. Our musical learning sequence is carefully integrated with the child's developmental growth. Performance opportunities are available in after-school clubs called the Bethany All Star Choir.
